Last month I had such an amazing journey compiling the most common struggles I see my clients and potential clients have when putting themselves out there to their public and company-facing audiences.

There were so many people I recognized from past events and even some former clients I hadn’t seen since before the pandemic. The best part of the day was knowing my good friend, Mari was there cheering me on. She was a key part of compiling a lot of my thoughts and ideas for this talk and having a person see this journey from start to finish was invigorating. My husband, Robert Millar, was also there to support me. He was so blown away I think he might want to participate in next year’s Founders Peak Tokyo event.

Connecting with other founders and sending a message on how important it is to really build your story and your brand.

How to Build Your Story Cover

When building a story cover, we have to know what the story is about. Finding out who you and your company are are pivotal in telling others about you and your brand. In the video below, I list the key steps for brainstorming your story and reaching out to a photographer who can bring those story blocks to life.

The Outcome

There were some audience members who were so inspired by my talk, they booked their headshot sessions within the week. It was fantastic listening to their stories and putting together building blocks that will create covers for their own storybook. I can’t wait to see where their newfound appreciation for visual storytelling takes them!

Much appreciation to Pieter Franken and the Founder’s Peak team for inviting me to speak with many other movers and shakers in the tech world!
