During the pandemic, I was invited to Aomori in Japan's Tohoku Region. The idea was to capture its essence and contribute to boosting tourism, and it truly left an impression. Aomori offers so much for everyone, from the energetic Aomori Nebuta and Hirosaki Neputa Festivals to the relaxing apple onsen and the stunning apple blossoms.
One spot that really stood out was the historic Nakamachi Komise Street. Despite the quiet streets at the time, the traditional Japanese architecture was simply beautiful. It's a clever design, really–the arcade that stretches along the street provides a pleasant cover from summer sun, winter snowfall, or rain, making it enjoyable any time of year. Another great experience was touring the Hirosaki Cider Brewery, known for its delicious dry and sweet ciders, including their popular Kimori Cider Harvest.

Last year, I went from chasing golden sunsets in Cape Town, South Africa, to wandering through lush green trails in Obama, Japan — a quiet coastal town where time seemed to stretch and soften. It was here, surrounded by forested hills and the natural rhythm of everyday life, that I rediscovered a slower pace and reconnected with a part of myself I hadn’t realized needed healing.
The deep, almost surreal greens of the landscape were beautiful, grounding and inspiring. Every photo I took felt alive, like nature itself was offering a quiet and effortless energy. It reminded me that sometimes, the most striking backdrops aren’t curated. They’re stumbled upon, off the beaten path. Obama is a place that doesn't try too much to impress.

Honestly, what blows me away working with models, actors, and dancers is how unapologetically themselves they are in their portfolios. You see their current vibe, the energy of who they're growing into, and those specific goals they're laser-focused on – landing that dream brand, nailing that role, owning that stage. Did I forget anything?
