If a camera was pointed at you today, would you step up or step back? Tell me why in the comments! You don’t need a “perfect” face, full makeup, or an idealized look to step in front of the lens. You deserve to be photographed for who you are, not who you think you’re supposed to be. Forget chasing celebrity standards. Capturing your real, authentic self is what truly matters.#toptia #toptiaportaits #photographerintokyo #photographer #tokyo

When someone sees their portraits and says, “exactly what I asked for,” that means a lot. Behind a portrait that feels effortless is a process of listening, understanding and paying attention to the details that matter to you.

We take the time to understand what you’re looking for and what you want your portraits to communicate, then bring that into the session through our direction, the way we work with you, and all the little details that make the experience feel personal.

If that sounds like the kind of photography experience you’re looking for, send us a message. We’d love to work with you.

When was the last time you chose yourself?
When was the last time you tried that thing you’ve been putting off?
Did you wear that outfit you love instead of saving it for “somewhere special”?
Have you added yourself to your daily to-do list lately?
What about saying yes to something you really want to do, even though you’ve been hesitating?

Sometimes, while we’re busy taking care of everything and everyone else, parts of us are pushed into the background. Maybe it’s time to bring some of those parts forward again. Try the thing you’ve been putting off, wear the outfit you love, make the plans you keep hesitating over and give yourself permission to take up space.

And remember to be there for yourself too.

Welcome behind the scenes of our studio space in Tokyo! Ever wondered what makes a photo truly authentic? Beyond technical gear and lighting, the real work happens when there’s genuine connection. As a Tokyo photographer, my goal is to get to know you and your vision so we can capture portraits that feel authentic, elevated, and editorial. So don’t be afraid to let your photographer get to know you. Share the little things, your ideas, your personality, even what makes you nervous in front of the camera. The more we understand who you are, the better we can photograph you in a way that feels true to you and shows you in your best light.#toptia #toptiaportaits #photographerintokyo #photographer #tokyo

2026 is coming to an end, and I know how easy it is to get caught up in deadlines, commitments, celebrations, and everything you still want to accomplish. I get it!

But remember, you don't have to push through exhaustion to finish the year strong. Rest when you need to, slow down when you can, and make space for the things that bring you joy. You deserve that care, too.
