Do you ever wonder about what to wear for your headshot session?
This is one of my favourite things to talk to clients about during our consultation.
Naturally, there are some people who absolutely know what they want to bring to their session but for the many of us (yes me included) we need a bit of guidance on how to present ourselves to our intended audiences.
The questions don't stop at what looks good but,
"What outfit makes me look like a leader without looking too formal?"
"I'm a tech guy but I don't want to wear a suit and I don't want to come off looking like a bro either."
"Do I have to wear a tie?"
"Do I have to wear a jacket?"
"Is this shirt too busy?"
The best answer to many of these questions I start with is, "What do your clients see you in most of the time?”

August is Breastfeeding Awareness Month, and from August 25th to August 31st, we shine a spotlight on Black Breastfeeding Awareness Week.
For all women, but especially black women, it's a time to assert ownership over their bodies and the choices they make in nurturing their children.
Let's also acknowledge the painful legacy of US slavery, where female slaves were tragically forced to breastfeed their masters' children. This injustice stripped them of control over their own bodies, disrupting the sacred bond between mother and child. These historical events also influenced the reliance on and preference for baby formula among black mothers when it was introduced in the late 1800s.
Today, the harmful notion that breast milk is of lower quality than formula and the persistence of the Mammy stereotype endure. Despite societal pressures, more mothers are embracing the beautiful act of nourishing their children from their own bodies.
This week and every week, we celebrate and support these incredible mothers. 🙌🏾💕
